The premier agricultural occupational health resource in New York State, based at Bassett Healthcare in Cooperstown. Founded in 1988 and serving farms statewide. All services are free or heavily subsidized. Health services include free on-farm health screenings (flu shots, tetanus, COVID vaccines), cardiovascular and diabetes screenings, physical exams, and referrals in participants' preferred language — all brought directly to the farm. Safety services include free confidential farm consultations, on-farm hazard identification, safety and health training, PTO shields, PPE and safety gear, and respirator fit testing. Financial assistance includes the John May Farm Safety Fund (matching grants up to $5,000 for safety improvements) and the National ROPS Rebate Program (70% rebate on tractor rollbars). Mental health and counseling services available for farm families through the FarmPartners program. On-farm services typically available within 50 miles of Cooperstown.
