Home to the rare Herdwick breed sheep — the second flock in the United States and the first east of the Rockies. Herdwick sheep are naturally disease- and parasite-resistant foragers known for exceptionally lean, mild-flavored meat, once famously raised and championed by Beatrix Potter. Produces unique Herdwick wool roving, batts, yarn, and fiber arts supplies, as well as pastured meats (lamb, heritage pigs, poultry, turkey), and farm-fresh eggs. Products available at the farm store and online. Also featured annually at the NYS Sheep and Wool Festival at the Dutchess County Fairgrounds.
